Project Overview

Envirochem is currently providing construction environmental management services to Neptune Bulk Terminals (Canada) Ltd. and Teck Corporation c/o Fluor Canada Ltd. (the construction manager) for a major $800M coal terminal expansion project in North Vancouver.  

Services and Solutions Provided

Services include preparation of environmental management plans including materials management plan and water management plan; management of contaminated soil, two water treatment systems, and archaeological services; coordinating soil and demolition material removal and disposal; conducting daily environmental monitoring and project support; and conducting various soil and water sampling and reporting. During daily environmental monitoring, Envirochem assesses contractors’ compliance with the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), project and site-specific environmental requirements, and supports mitigation measures and plans, when necessary. 

Results Delivered

The project has a high standard of expectations and Envirochem has been successful in meeting all expectations. Envirochem frequently liaises with the regulator (Port of Vancouver) and First Nations (Musqueam, Sto:lo, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh) to provide environmental communications, as required, including weekly monitoring reports, management plans, and field updates.
