Project Overview
Envirochem completed environmental site investigations and reporting to support the remediation and development of the new flagship retail store of Mountain Equipment Co-Op (MEC) in an area of Vancouver with impacts from historical industrial activity.
Services and Solutions Provided
Site investigation of various media (soil, groundwater, and vapours) and remediation services along with construction erosion and sediment control (ESC) monitoring and reporting to support development and to satisfy appropriate regulatory agencies.
Results Delivered
The site has been successfully remediated and two Certificates-of-Compliance (for the site and a dedicated portion of land to the City) were obtained from the provincial Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy. ESC monitoring and reporting was completed to the satisfaction of the City of Vancouver.
